Do you ever meet someone and think, I’d love to be able to sit down with you privately and ask you all of my questions? Well, when you have a podcast, you can!

In my talk I will unravel the art of starting an equestrian podcast & sharing my unique experience as someone who had never considered the idea before it ‘just happened’.

In 2021 we started Canter Therapy Podcast as two friends recording our conversations and it has grown exponentially since then. I will share our unique philosophy and how starting a podcast has opened up my world to many incredible opportunities . Discover the top 10 invaluable lessons I have learnt, from navigating interviews with experts to building an incredible community.

Canter Therapy Podcast’s journey offers a wealth of knowledge for those eager to embark on their podcasting venture, promising to inspire, educate, and elevate your connection with your equestrian community.

Saturday November 16th 3:45 pm to 4:30 pm Ariat Theatrette, Ariat Building

If you could do everything in your power to set your horse up for a healthy and comfortable life, would you? I want to provide a guide to identifying, understanding and managing the hidden behavioural problem that often goes unnoticed. An astronomical amount of horses exhibit foot soreness often manifested in behavioral issues. Unsatisfactory behavior can indicate unsoundness, even without apparent lameness, making it crucial to interpret horses’ actions as a form of communication.

As a farrier, and frequent horse observer, I am uniquely positioned to identify issues due to my regular interactions with owners. This presentation aims to guide attendees in recognizing, comprehending, and managing subclinical laminitis. Topics include understanding its origins, identifying early behavioral, hoof, and body changes, offering a comprehensive approach to ensuring equine well-being.

2025 Hoof Mapping and Trimming Workshops

Is equine hoof care something that you would like to learn more about?

We are running some workshops around Australia to educate horse owners and allow them to take an active role in their horses care.

Here’s what you can expect to learn:
  • Internal & External Hoof Anatomy: Looking at the structures inside and outside the hoof, understanding their functions and how they can contribute to overall hoof health.
  • Hoof Mapping: Learning the external landmarks of the hoof and how to use them to apply hoof mapping confidently
  • Biomechanics & Posture: Discover the connection between biomechanics, posture, and horse performance. Learn how proper hoof care directly impacts movement, comfort, and athletic ability.
This workshop isn’t just about theory; it’s hands-on and practical, designed to empower you with actionable knowledge to optimize hoof health and enhance your horse’s quality of life. It will be a mixture of lecture, demonstrations as well as trimming under supervision on cadaver feet and live horses (for those who are ready).
Investment: $500 for the 2 day workshop including pre-workshop materials.
